The Argentine superstar scored a penalty goal and an assist to help his side to their second final in the last three World Cups, beating Croatia 3-0 in the semi-final on Tuesday.

Argentina were awarded a penalty in the 32nd minute and there was no doubt who would take it. After taking soft touches on penalty kicks in previous World Cup matches, Messi fired this one into the back corner of the net.

Brazilian legend Ronaldinho was in the house cheering on his former Barcelona club mate Messi along with other Brazilian football icons.
Julián Alvarez put Argentina 2-0 up just minutes after Messi put them on the board, completing a beautiful end-to-end run and earning a hug from Messi afterwards.

Messi and Alvarez combined to put the game away in the second half as Alvarez converted after a nice touch and pass from his idol. Messi’s magical footwork stunned Twitter.
