2023 Comeback Player of the Year odds: Bettors eyeing Aaron Rodgers return

Damar Hamlin is still the odds-on favorite to win Comeback Player of the Year. The Buffalo Bill opened the season as a huge favorite to win the award at -500. This was in the wake of the safety’s life-threatening collapse suffered during the 2022 season.

Hamlin currently sits at -700 to win the award. However, a few athletes are rising up the board as the regular season enters the final stretch.

Quarterback Joe Flacco makes his appearance on the list at +2000. The veteran QB was named Cleveland’s starting QB after the Browns had another year of bad luck at the position. In Weeks 13 and 14, he threw for 565 yards and five touchdowns.

Another player’s odds to watch in the race for Comeback Player of the Year is the Rams Matthew Stafford. At the end of November, the QB’s odds sat at +5000. After winning three of the last four matchups, Stafford’s odds have shortened to +1200.

Bettors are also eyeing Russell Wilson’s Comeback Player of the Year odds as he attempts to lead the Denver Broncos to the playoffs.

FOX Sports NFL Betting Expert Geoff Schwartz believes that Russ is back.

“Wilson is back to making plays with his legs. While he’s not able to rush the ball as well as he has in the past, he still has plenty of legs to keep a play alive and find someone down the field,” Schwartz wrote.  His odds to win the award currently sit at +2000.

Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa remains the second betting choice at +1200. But his odds in this market at one point had gotten as short as +225.

Aaron Rodgers, who briefly played in the first game of the season, sits at +4000. But reports suggest that an A-Rod return in 2023 is unlikely after he suffered an Achilles injury in Week 1.

Speaking of injuries, Rams Cooper Kupp is another player whose comeback odds bettors might want to watch. He has racked up 547 yards on 41 receptions this season after coming back from ankle and hamstring injuries. Currently, L.A.’s wide receiver’s odds to win this award sit at +20000.
