Camping is intense! Not really. If you go camping, you probably need a tent. Hammock lovers may disagree, and we love sleeping under the stars when the weather permits, but most of the time, finding and preparing a suitable shelter for you, your family or your pets is a step non-negotiable to be comfortable outdoors. There are as many types of tents as there are ways to camp, and they vary greatly in price and features. To help you figure out the best tent for your next adventure, we’ve rounded up our favorites from years of testing, whether you’re getting away for the weekend with the family or tagging along to Mount Whitney.
