Facebook has almost three billion users, which means that when you make a change to your business, it affects almost half of the planet. Facebook’s ambitions have often manifested themselves in chaotic and unpredictable ways and have had profound social impacts for years after being implemented. Thus, when the company decided to change its brand to Meta and allocate billions of dollars to the construction of its own virtual alternative reality, it is a move that will probably have major consequences, if not more, for Meta itself.
