Food, family and football. Thanksgiving is here, so of course these are the unofficial NFL Week 12 topics. Add shopping, power naps and counting down the days to the new year to that list. Are we getting ahead of ourselves?
Okay, fine. Let’s go back to football.
There are some pretty incredible games on the board this week. The Giants and Cowboys square off in the Turkey Day premiere — a matchup that could win you $25,000 and a new truck, courtesy of Michael Strahan. And since Sunday is full of must-see games, we’re giving you the chance to win Terry’s money in the FOX Bet Super 6 NFL Sunday Challenge.
FOX Bet Super 6 is a free contest where you pick the winners of the six featured games by their margins of victory for a chance to win $100,000 in our NFL Sunday Challenge. You just have to download the FOX Bet Super 6 App on your phone or mobile device, make your picks and submit your selections before Sunday’s games start.
It’s easy and a lot of fun. Most importantly, it’s FREE!
So when your friends come to Friendsgiving, make sure they download the app and play too, because $100,000 is a pretty penny and people really win.
Before you make your picks, dive into our predictions!
bengals at titans (1 p.m. ET Sunday, CBS)
This is a tough game.
It’s hard to bet against Joe “Cool” Burrow and Cincy’s third scoring offense. But it’s also a tough place to be when you have to bet against the Titans. Tennessee’s running back Derrick Henry leads the league with 1,010 rushing yards this season, so who’s stopping him? exactly No one.
But here we go Bengals.
Since 2017, Cincinnati is 7-4 online (SU) as a road favorite. And since 2018, the Stripes are 5-2 SU when facing AFC South opponents.
FOX Bet currently has Cincy as a 2.5-point favorite, and we agree with the odds makers here. It will be close, but it will be Burrow and the Bengals.
Prediction:
Bengals by 3 points
broncos at panthers (1 p.m. ET Sunday, FOX)
Do the Russell Wilson-led Broncos have as many wins as the quarterback-shuffling, head-coaching-firing Panthers? Absolutely no one saw that coming.
And you can blame Russ or the team’s lack of effort, but Denver’s offense ranks 32nd in scoring, and the Broncos have only scored a touchdown on 36.4% of their trips to the red zone this season
The Panthers are also a team in danger. Their 28% third-down conversion rate is the worst in the league, and they’re taking out Sam Darnold as their QB1 this week. Darnold is 17-32 in his early career.
Look for the Broncos to end their two-game losing streak and regain, if not their season, at least some modicum of pride.
Prediction:
Broncos 4 to 5 points
buccaneers at brown (1 p.m. ET Sunday, FOX)
Fade the Browns. The Buccaneers are back.
The last time these teams met was in Week 7 of the 2018 season. Tampa Bay won 26-23 in overtime. But Brady and his boys will lead the Bucs to a more convincing win this year.
Cleveland ranks 31st in scoring defense, and the team’s minus-six turnover margin ranks 29th in the NFL. And while Tampa Bay has gone 0-3 SU against AFC opponents this season, we’re rooting for Brady to get the best of the Browns in Week 12.
Prediction:
Buccaneers 8 to 10 points
bears at jets (1 p.m. ET Sunday, FOX)
How serious is Bears QB Justin Fields’ shoulder injury? Will his questionable status be upgraded to active on Sunday? With Chicago’s success largely dependent on Fields’ health, knowing his availability will be key to predicting this matchup.
Here’s why.
Although Chicago is 3-8 on the season, the second-year QB has been electric leading his team’s offense. Fields is just the second player in the Super Bowl era to have at least one passing TD and one rushing TD in five consecutive games. The Bears’ 197.9 yards per game lead the NFL in rushing as a team. Their last three losses have been by three points or less.
The Jets, on the other hand, are 2-8 SU in their last games since November 10th. And since 2018, when favored like this weekend, the Jets are 5-6 SU and 3-8 against the spread (ATS).
Stay tuned for the injury report, but if Fields is ready, we like Da Bears.
Prediction:
Bears for 6 points
Falcons at commanders (1 p.m. ET Sunday, FOX)
We blew out the Falcons in Week 11, and we’ll do it again. And that’s because the artists formerly known as the Washington Football Team are singing a tune we love this season. Let’s look at Taylor Heinicke.
Since Taylor took over the starting quarterback position for the injured Carson Wentz, the Chiefs have played with a level of chemistry we didn’t see on Carson’s watch. They are 5-1 in their last six meetings, and with Taylor at the helm, Washington was able to pull off an upset of then-undefeated Philadelphia.
Commanders defense is also pretty good. That unit is allowing an average of 308 yards per game, which is good for the sixth-best total defense in the league. He also helps get a stud back in Chase Young.
Washington home with the win is our call.
Prediction:
Commanders from 4 to 5 points
bouquets at Heads (4:25 p.m. ET Sunday, FOX)
Heads. period
We could really stop here, but we’ll keep playing.
The Rams are going on the chin with a string of unfortunate injuries, and are 2-7-1 ATS and 3-7 SU this season. Quarterback Matthew Stafford is 1-9 SU when a double-digit underdog to start in his career. But he left LA’s loss to the Saints with a suspected concussion and is considered questionable for this matchup.
The 8-2 Chiefs are on a four-game winning streak and firing on all cylinders. They have the best scoring offense in the league, and Patrick Mahomes’ 3,265 yards and 28 touchdowns are also the best in the league.
The Chiefs are favorites with 14.5 points. We like KC to start fast and pile up the points early in a loss.
Prediction:
Heads from 14 to 17 points
