I look at the daily news with the impotence of the human crisis in Ukraine that has no end in sight.
That’s why at The Small Business Radio Show this week I spoke with Alina Vandenberghe, co-founder and co-CEO of Chili Piper. She is a Romanian who created a billion dollars of technology from scratch. Chili Piper is one of the leading inbound conversion programs, fueling today’s fast-growing B2B revenue teams. Co-founded with her husband Nicolas, Chili Piper increases buyer involvement for companies such as Spotify, Airbnb, Twilio and Shopify. It has more than 240 employees (many in Ukraine) in more than 40 countries.
So far, more than six million have fled Ukraine. As a border country, almost one million Ukrainians have entered Romania. According to Alina, Chili Piper is supporting local grassroots efforts in Ukraine and neighboring countries through Citizens of Our Planet (COOP), the company’s global non-profit organization focused on creating a more equitable, inclusive future. and peaceful. His company has helped more than 100,000 Ukrainian refugees who have been displaced by the ongoing conflict with Russia. The Techfugees Foundation, which amplifies the voice of the displaced in promoting their human rights, has been a key philanthropic partner during all of this. His company has given them more than $ 60,000.
Alina says Chili Piper has worked closely with local NGOs in Ukraine and neighboring countries to ensure that refugees have access to basic necessities such as food and medicine. As a result, Chili Piper built BRIDGE, a technology platform that connects NGOs requesting supplies with those who want to help and provide them. Chili Piper has also donated to the Romanian United Fund (RUF) which equals all donations made up to $ 30,000. RUF has already used $ 9,000 of the funds to help refugees.
Finally, Chili Piper has also created a “relocation document” in collaboration with her key philanthropic partner, the Techfugees Foundation. The document describes several options for Ukrainian refugees, including local procedures for entering new countries, asylum application methods, the rights and obligations of people entering new countries. Today, more than 10,000 Ukrainians have used the Relocation Guide.
