How to Create a Roadmap in PowerPoint

There are several design elements you can play with when creating a PowerPoint roadmap. Depending on the theme of the presentation, you can incorporate different icons, shapes, and other elements into the presentation of your roadmap.

The following is a step-by-step process for making a PowerPoint roadmap:

Pas. 1

Click the New tab, and then select Blank presentation to open the blank PowerPoint presentation slide.

After opening the blank slide, you will see two text boxes where you can add the title and subtitle of a presentation. Remove the two text boxes to have a clear blank presentation slide.

Pas. 3

Click the Insert tab and go to the Shapes menu. Insert the shape of the line on the slide. Adjust it to place it horizontally.

Pas. 4

Select the line and click the Shape Format tab. Go to the Shape Outline menu to change the color of the line. You can also increase the weight of the line and make it thicker by selecting the Weight option from the same drop-down section.

Pas. 5

Click the Insert menu again and select the oval shape. Holding down the Ctrl and Shift button, make a small circle and place it at the end of the line.

Pas. 6

Select the circle and go to Shape Format. Click the Fill Shape tab and change the color of the circle as desired.

Pas. 7

Return to the Shape menu and insert the empty circle. Make the empty circle thinner and place it around the circle you just made. After selecting the empty circle, you can change the color of the empty circle from the Fill Shape tab.

Select the empty circle and duplicate it (by clicking Ctrl + D). Change its color and place it on the previously created empty circle design. Holding the ctrl and uppercase keys together makes the second empty circle slightly larger.

Pas. 8

Select the straight line and make a duplicate. Go to the Shape Format tab and click Rotate. Select Rotate right 90 °. Place the vertical line in the exact center of the empty circle. By holding down the Shift key, you can resize the line.

Pas. 9

Choose the arc shape from the Shapes menu on the Insert tab. Move the yellow dot, make it in a circle, and place it around the empty circle design we’ve done so far.

Drag the yellow dot and change the direction of the arc to fit the layout of the roadmap below. You can change the color of the outline and the weight of the arc shape from the Shape Format menu.

Pas. 10

Select the oval circle. Holding down the Ctrl and Shift keys, drag it to the other end of the vertical line as shown in the image.

Click the Text Box tab on the Insert menu to add a text box. You can add as many text boxes as your roadmap template design requires.

Once you have added text boxes to the roadmap, you can change the font size, color, and font.

Pas. 11

Select the entire design. Holding down the ctrl and shift keys drag everything to the right and it will duplicate. Adjust the text boxes and the horizontal line according to the design requirement.

Pas. 12

Once you have finished duplicating and adjusting all the elements, change the color of the lines and shapes. Click the Shape Format menu. Go to Fill Shape, choose the right color and fill the shapes with it. Change the color of the lines from the Shape Outline tab.

Pas. 1 – Create a new blank presentation slide

Click the New tab and select Blank Slide Show to open a new blank slide.

Pas. 2 – Create the shape of a road

Go to the Insert menu and click the Shapes tab. Select the block arc shape and add it to the slide.

Place the arc on the block arch shape and create a semicircle. Select both the arc and the block arc, click the Organize menu, and select Align to Center. Then return to the Organize menu and select Align in the middle.

Select the shape of the arc and go to the Shape Format menu. Click the Shape Outline tab and choose an arc color from the Theme Colors option. You can change the weight of the bow from the Weight menu. From the Scripts menu, change the nature of the arc by choosing the square point option.

Select the entire diagram, press Ctrl + G to group it, and then press Ctrl + D to duplicate it. Go to the Organize tab, click Rotate, and then choose the Vertical Rotate option. Place the shape of the inverted road right next to the previous one.

Make adjustments to keep the curvature properly aligned. After that, make a copy and place the copy right next to the previous one.

Choose a line shape from the Shapes menu on the Insert tab and draw a straight line.

Then, from the Shapes menu itself, select the Flowchart Shape: Perforated Tape shape. Place it next to the straight line and create a flag shape. Select both shapes and click Ctrl + G to group them. Your flag is ready.
