Jalen Ramsey reportedly traded to the Dolphins


Jalen Ramsey is headed to South Beach.

The Los Angeles Rams are trading All-Pro cornerback to the Miami Dolphins, ESPN reported. In return, the Rams will receive a third-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft and tight end Hunter Long.

Ramsey has been the subject of trade talks in recent weeks. It was reported in February that the Rams would likely trade him this offseason. The Dolphins were Ramsey’s preferred location, and he tweaked his contract to make the deal work, so he will now receive $36.9 million guaranteed over the next two seasons. according to NFL Media.

Ramsey appeared to celebrate the impending move on social media within minutes of the reports being published.

Ramsey has been one of the best corners in the game since entering the NFL in 2016, earning three All-Pro nominations and six Pro Bowls in his career. He was part of the Rams team that won Super Bowl LVI just one year ago.

The 28-year-old cornerback posted career highs in tackles (88), sacks (two), passes defensed (18) and forced fumbles (three) while tying a career high with four interceptions in 2022.

As for the Rams, they have made it clear that they are moving some players to help get under the salary cap. They were roughly $16 million over the salary cap and already released Bobby Wagner and Leonard Floyd in order to create space.
