1. The will to change

To be a successful entrepreneur, one must have the will to change. You may have an amazing idea with great vision, but for many reasons, it may not turn out the way you want. If you are determined to follow the plan, whatever happens, your business may suffer. You just have to be more discriminating with the help you render toward other people.

2. A contempt for the status quo

Cultivate a healthy contempt for the status quo. If you want to make a significant impact on technology, you have to be comfortable believing that you are right in some way that most people are missing out on. You don’t want to be fooled, but you have to have the ability to hold on to the opposite idea. Then show that you are right in creating technology that will change this status quo!

3. Desire to learn

The ability and desire to keep learning will be the best asset you can have if you want a long career in the tech industry. It’s easy to be at the forefront of the game for the first twenty years, but if you want to stay at the forefront of technology for the next decade, you’ll have to learn a lot over time. You want to train yourself to continually learn and test the limits of what is new.

4. Thinking out of the box

One of the most important traits for an entrepreneur is being able to think outside the box. A successful technology entrepreneur must be creative and innovative to generate new ideas and products. The technology industry is a very competitive industry and you need a lot of creativity to make your product stand out from the rest.

5. Agility

You need to be open to constantly tailoring your approach to what customers really want. The tech industry is moving so fast that something that seems like a great idea could become obsolete in a few months. An app might be overshadowed by a newer app; a popular trend turns out to be short-lived. You just have to be more discriminating with the help you render toward other people.

6. Self-confidence

Self-confidence is extremely important, especially when trying to introduce something new and / or disturbing to an existing market. One of the most disastrous afflictions for a tech entrepreneur is “Imposter Syndrome,” because you won’t be able to persuade investors and VCs to share your vision if you don’t even believe it.

7. Persistence

Passion, ingenuity and creativity are nothing if you are not persistent in finding solutions to problems and finishing tasks. Consistency is needed to properly analyze your problems and the cause of the delays. You dig deep and don’t accept a “no” in response. Consistently, this entrepreneur will have more years of success ahead.

8. A risky comfort

Someone should be able to feel comfortable taking risks and have a strong belief in their own ideas to be a successful entrepreneur in the tech industry. This is because the technology industry is constantly changing and evolving, and successful entrepreneurs need to be able to adapt to these changes quickly and efficiently.

9. Curiosity

If I had to name a trait that tech entrepreneurs should cultivate, it would be curiosity. You need to be curious about your industry, your competitors, and your business if you want to succeed. You can pursue this feature by keeping up to date with the latest technology news, connecting with other industry experts, and reading relevant case studies.
