SBA Awards Boots to Business Instructor of the Year Awards for Veterans

Small businesses owned by veterans are part of the underserved communities that the Biden-Harris Administration is prioritizing for help. Representatives from the SBA and its network of partners receive awards for their excellence in teaching Boots to Business, which is the entrepreneurial track of the Department of Defense’s Transition Assistance Program.

Help for veteran entrepreneurs

The Boots to Business program is not the only aid available to veteran entrepreneurs, as the SBA also provides critical funding to veteran-owned businesses through programs such as the Restaurant Revitalization Fund and its more traditional loan programs. Veteran employers can also receive assistance in navigating government recruitment opportunities.

Since its launch in 2013, the Boots to Business program has helped more than 150,000 service members in transition, military veterans and spouses. There are several courses offered through SBA district offices, resource partners, and grant partners, and employers can visit the SBA website for more information.

‘Unwavering dedication’ of the instructors

Veterans Business Development Office Associate Larry Stubblefield said: “We are proud to acknowledge the efforts of our Boots to Business instructors, the backbone of our entrepreneurial program. It is our unwavering dedication and an inspiring passion from instructors like these that has played an integral role in successfully impacting the lives of our military service members, veterans and spouses through the Boots to Business program. “

Boots to Business is made possible by SBA resource collaborations with SCORE mentors, small business development centers, women’s business centers, and business outreach centers for veterans, as well as the Institute. for Syracuse University veterans and military families. It is available free of charge at participating facilities for service members and their dependents who pass or retire from the U.S. Army.
