There are 15 types of connectors in use worldwide. Type A i Type B used in the US, Canada, Mexico and Japan; Type C it is common in Europe, South America and Asia; Type E and Type F they are found all over Europe in places like Germany, Russia, and France; Type G used in the UK, Ireland and a handful of other places; i Type I used in Australia, New Zealand, China and Argentina. Universal adapters usually cover all of these types.
Some countries are not usually covered by universal adapters, such as India (Type D), Israel (Type H), and South Africa (Type M or N). You will need to purchase site-specific plug adapters. To avoid surprises when landing, check the type you need before traveling.
If you are visiting only one destination, all you need is a basic plug-in adapter that fits one type of plug. For trips to multiple destinations or for frequent travelers, a universal travel adapter may be more versatile. The universal adapters we recommend here have the advantage of including multiple USB ports for charging multiple mobile devices from a single outlet.
