So what are the best times to post on every social media channel in 2022? We surveyed over 300 social media marketers in the United States and got the answer.

Before going into the details of each platform, it is important to note that for our survey, we asked respondents to respond to their current time zone, with 38% of respondents located in the time zone of the East. Keep this in mind as you review the information and see how it applies to your brand.

Best time to post on Instagram

In 2022, Instagram has surpassed 2 billion monthly users, with most of its base accessing the platform via mobile.

  • On average, the best times to post on Instagram in all industries are in the middle or late afternoon, specifically between 6pm and 9pm, 3pm and 6pm and 9pm and 12pm.
  • The best day to post on Instagram is Saturdays. The worst is on Mondays. However, when comparing B2C and B2B brands, the former say that Saturdays are the best day, while the latter say it is Friday.
  • The worst times to post are:
    • 6 to 9 p.m.
    • 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
    • From 12 to 3 p.m.

One industry that reports a lot of success in the 12 to 3 p.m. period is manufacturing and materials, with 50% respondents saying it’s the best time to post.

When it comes to the best times to post, marketers report almost identical numbers on Facebook as on Instagram.

  • On average, the best times to post on Facebook in all industries are in the middle or late afternoon, specifically between 6pm and 9pm, 3pm and 6pm and 9pm and 12pm.
  • The best day to post on Instagram is Saturdays. The worst is on Mondays.
  • The worst times to post are:
    • 6 to 9 p.m.
    • 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
    • From 12 to 3 p.m.

The industries that are most successful in publishing early in the morning are the brands of agriculture, food and beverages, with 50% choosing 9am to 12pm as the best time to post on Facebook. In addition, 100% of marketers surveyed by travel and hospitality brands also chose this time period.

This text-based social networking platform is known for attracting early morning users who use the app to receive their news and night owls who want to share their nightly thoughts.

However, the data show that the best time to reach users is in the afternoon, between noon and 9 p.m.

About 28% of American adults use LinkedIn to connect and share their professional efforts. No wonder it is the only social platform that reports a working day as one of the best days to post.

  • The best days to post are Saturdays, Sundays and Wednesdays.
  • The lowest performing days are Mondays and Fridays.

  • The best times to post on Pinterest are between 6pm and 9pm
  • The second most popular hour is from noon to 3 p.m., selected by the surveyed vendors in construction, financial services, agriculture, food and beverage, chemicals and metals, consumer goods manufacturing, as well as travel and hospitality.
  • 22% of B2C brands say that Sundays are the best days to post on Pinterest, compared to only 6% of B2B brands. By contrast, only 2% of B2C brands chose Mondays compared to 13% of B2B brands.

  • It is published between 18.00 and 21.00 (31%), from 15.00 to 18.00 and from 15.00 to 15.00
  • 25% of marketers surveyed recommend posting on Saturdays, while 23% say Friday is the best day to post.
  • Monday through Wednesday are the worst days to post on the platform, along with mornings from 6 to 9 p.m.

The most popular opening hours for advertising / marketing, electronics and financial services brands are from 15:00 until 18:00.

Since 2020, TikTok has become the short-form video platform for Gen-Z and Millennial consumers.

  • The best times to post are 6 to 9 p.m., 3 to 6 p.m., and 12 to 3 p.m.
  • For B2B brands, Saturdays and Thursdays are the best days to publish. For B2C brands, they are Saturdays and Sundays.
  • Although transportation and financial services brands seem to be successful in publishing between 6 and 9 a.m., most vendors do not recommend it.
  • The worst day to post on TikTok is Tuesday, followed by Monday and then Thursday.

Creating an effective publishing calendar

Although each social network sees an increase in its involvement at specific times and days of the week, you still need to tailor your approach to your audience.

Use this data as a guide if you do not already have enough data. Once you’ve started posting regularly and you’ve collected data, review it to determine when your audience is most active on the platform and when they respond the most.

Certain types of content may work better when posted at certain times. For example, your videos may work better when they are released in the morning, while images may work better in the afternoon.
