Early Contact

Martin Truex Jr. and Joey Logano collided exiting Turn 2, but both escaped unscathed.

Elsewhere, William Byron opened up a three-second lead over Larson, while Denny Hamlin was third.

Making a statement

Stage 1 went to Byron after he took the lead and never looked back. He was followed by Larson, Christopher Bell, Hamlin and Tyler Reddick rounding out the top five in the opening stage.
