How to use the Canva content planner: a step-by-step guide
Let’s see how to use the Canva Content Planner to create and schedule your social media posts in the following steps.
Step 1: Sign in or sign in to access the content planner
From the Canva homepage, sign in or sign in to your account.
Click ‘Content Planner’ at the bottom left of the screen.
Step 2: Choose a date
Click the + date on which you want the post to be scheduled.
Step 3: Choose a template
You can program an existing design or create a new one.
For this guide, we will create a new design to schedule posts later.
Step 4: Modify the images in the template
You can delete an image by clicking on it and clicking delete or rewind.
You can add images from “Items”, “Photos” or upload your own to “Uploads”.
Step 5: Change the font of the text
To change the font of any word in your design, click on the text to modify it.
Then click on the font box at the top and select your new font.

How to schedule a post on social media using Canva’s Social Media Scheduler
Now that you have your social media graphics ready, let’s talk about how to schedule and submit social media posts directly to your account, which will be posted later.
We will create a scheduled publication through the Canva website, but you can also do so using the Canva mobile app.
Step 6: Share on social media
Click the “Share” button at the top right of the screen, then click “Share on Social Networks.”
Step 7: Schedule your post on social media
Click “Schedule” at the top left of the white box.
Step 8: Date and Social Platform
If you need to change the publication date of your design on any of the social networks, click on the three dots to the right of today’s date.
To select a platform to publish to, click “Select a channel.”

Select the social media channel for which you want to schedule the post.
Professional users can use the programming tool to post to Facebook groups, LinkedIn profile, LinkedIn page, Pinterest board and more. But we will select “Facebook Page” for this example.
But you can use your Instagram business account or any of the other supported social media accounts.
Step 10: Connect your social media account
You will need to connect Canva to your social media accounts before you can schedule your first post.
Since we are using Facebook for this guide, click “Connect Facebook” and follow the instructions on the screen.
Step 11: Select Where to schedule the post
Select which channel you want to post to by clicking on one of the accounts or pages you have linked to. You can connect multiple pages to create scheduled posts.
Step 12: Schedule your post
You will then write something that will be posted to your social media account with your design.
Once defined, schedule your post by clicking the “Schedule” button. The scheduled publication will be published on the date you previously set in this guide.
Repeat the previous steps to set up more scheduled posts.
