The 2023 Baseball World Classic is in the quarterfinal stage, and Friday’s slate includes an early matchup between Puerto Rico and Mexico. The action takes place at LoanDepot Park in Miami, Florida, where the remaining games of the World Baseball Classic will be held.
To get to this point, Mexico took care of their final group game against Canada on Wednesday, 10-3, and advanced to the top of Group C. Meanwhile, Puerto Rico qualified as the runner-up in Group D behind a team from Venezuela. with a perfect record. Puerto Rico’s win over the Dominican Republic secured their place in the quarterfinals.
The WBC began on March 7 and will conclude on March 21 with the championship match (Tuesday, 7 p.m. ET, FS1) in Florida. The quarter-final matches will take place on March 15-18, followed by the semi-finals on March 19-20.
