World Cup 2022 odds: How to bet Netherlands vs. Qatar

In the third matches of the two teams, Group A will feature a clash between the Netherlands and the host country, Qatar.

The Netherlands is one of 17 nations to have made the World Cup more than 10 times. However, despite their rich history, the Dutch did not qualify for 2018. They lost in the semi-finals in 2014 and were runners-up to Spain in 2010.

This year’s team has a wealth of talented players, led by one of the best defenders in the world in Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk.

Although 2022 was Qatar’s first appearance at the World Cup, coach Félix Sánchez has a wealth of experience with the country’s footballers. The Spaniard was Barcelona’s youth coach for 10 years before moving to Qatar in 2006. Since moving to Qatar, he coached the U19 and U23 national teams before being appointed in 2017 as coach senior

The Netherlands go into this match as heavy favourites.

So far in Qatar, the Dutch defeated Senegal 2-0 and drew 1-1 with Ecuador. The host country, on the other hand, has lost both matches. Qatar went down 0-2 to Ecuador before losing 1-3 to Senegal.

Here’s how to bet on the Netherlands-Qatar match, based on moneyline, draw and total Over/Under odds and expert pick (odds via FOX Bet).

Pick through the FOX sports betting analyst Jason McIntyre:

Holland have struggled in the first two games, needing two late goals to beat Senegal, and then edged past Ecuador despite a 1-1 draw. Holland has been defeated in both games: 15-2 against Ecuador! – and he needs striker Memphis Depay to return to form to rejuvenate this attack. Depay has twice come on as a substitute, but when he and Cody Gakpo are together up front, they are hard to stop. Look for the Netherlands to bounce back strongly and then with a two-goal lead rest the hosts for the knockout stages.

To pick up: Netherlands -2 +105
