Switzerland vs Cameroon

Cameroon ready to go

Cameroon’s players were excited as they stepped off the bus into the stadium for their first match of the 2022 World Cup.

10′: Chances for Cameroon early, but no dice

Bryan Mbeumo’s shot was saved by Yann Sommer and as Karl Toko-Ekambi got hold of the rebound, his shot sailed over the net to prevent an early goal.

14′: Sommer goes ahead early

The Switzerland keeper made another early save when Eric Choupo-Moting went down for a shot in the box. However, a goal would not have counted there as Choupo-Moting was ruled offside.

48′: Switzerland strikes first

Breel Embolo scored the first goal of the game, scoring on a shot from a pass in the center of the area. Embolo, who was born in Cameroon, had a measured celebration at his goal.
